FOLK TALES (work in progress)

A book of folk tales from around the world with a contemporary edge that inform the reader and deal with some of the underlying concerns of young people today.
Each of the stories featured is accompanied by a full colour illustration by a variety of contemporary artists.

The stories included take traditional folk tales and, whilst preserving the essence and sense of myth of the originals, update them for a modern audience. Each story is told to a contemporary character who finds something in the tale that connects with his or her life. That may be with a single word, or it may provide them with a whole new perspective on their lives – one that children will relate to.

The book is accompanied by 'teachers notes' to enable a deeper understanding of the content and intention by the student.
